These week’s travel theme from Where’s My Backpack is Doorways. This pleases me because I love anything to do with architecture! Doors and windows always draw my eye. What’s behind them? Who lives there? What goes on behind closed doors?

So many fabulous doorways!!!
Thank you!
What a beautiful and varied series!
Thank you!
Such a great theme but also fantastic photos! I love doorways (not in a weird way!) and how they vary from country to country.
ANd the older the better. Doors on new houses and buildings, as a rule, don’t have a lot of character
So so true!
There’s a trail in the Italian Reviera called “Chinque Terra”. It is a walking/hiking trail that is separated from the adjoining fields and farms by a combination of walls, steep hills, and fences. Many of the fences have gates opening into them. I think your doorways idea could be used to photograph the many different gates and openings. Someone should do that some day.
Absolutely. I have a couple of gate shots as well in my archives.
